LAUNCH OF THE KNOWLEDGE-SHARING PLATFORM
3/2/2026

The BUILD CARE knowledge-sharing platform is now available online. The platform has been developed to share selected insights and outcomes from the BUILD CARE project, which examined the role of built environments in the everyday lives of children and families affected by childhood stroke. Completed in November 2025, the project explored how environments such as the home, school, healthcare, and rehabilitation settings can shape daily experiences, activities, and support needs.
Designed for a broad audience, the platform is intended for affected children and families, designers, architects and planners, healthcare and education professionals, patient and advocacy organisations, researchers, and anyone interested in creating more supportive everyday environments in relation to childhood stroke.
The platform brings together a range of resources developed through the project. These include a persona-set based on project findings, insights into findings across different everyday environments such as the home, school, and healthcare settings, and additional resources that may be useful for understanding and responding to the spatial implications of childhood stroke. Alongside materials developed within BUILD CARE, the platform also includes selected external resources that may be helpful to those engaging with the topic in research, practice, education, or everyday life.
